Media files come in many different flavors, for example the popular MP3 sound and AVI video file formats. Ashampoo Media Player+ is a modular, extensible program that uses plugins for playing different kinds of media files. In addition to enabling you to play a large number of different formats out of the box, this also means that you can add support for new and different formats as and when the plugins become available.

In the standard version Ashampoo Media Player+ includes support for over twenty major media file formats, which it can play on any Windows®computer without additional codecs. In addition to this it can play many, many more sub-formats in combination with additional freely-available codecs. (for example the DivX video codec)

You can include FTP folders and web files in your playlists. The contents of FTP folders are updated automatically, just like local folders! You can even listen to and view many audio and video formats online in real time, without downloading the files to your computer first.
